A sculptural innovator with copper, brass, ceramics and modern materials Yigal Natani is from a traditional Israeli Yemenite family. As a young man, Yigal respected his family’s wishes and studied at the Tel Aviv School of Engineering. Yigal quickly adapted his technical training and knowledge of materials to more artistic endeavors. His inquiring mind and passion for innovation led him on a creative path. He developed his own sculpture techniques, crafting materials as diverse as plastic and ceramics, and baking them in a kiln. Yigal Natani was inspired on a human level by the culture and experiences of Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe. His art reflects the profound effect that this ethnic group had on his own psyche. Yigal is a bold and original artist and an unconventional thinker.
